New lifestyle

Talked to Justinn the other night. And he wondered where this new Amanda came from. The...college student Amanda that goes clubbing every week at a new venue and drinks. She stays up til 3 or 4 in the morning, sometimes skips class, and hasn't done an ounce of homework. The 30 year old in me disappeared when I landed in this glorious town (it's sunny right now, and 61 F). While I've seen the landmarks here...:

1) Prague Castle (I haven't toured inside yet, but hopefully when tourist season dies down. Will also watch a chamber concert in the Spanish Hall).
2) Old Town Square, Old City Hall and the old Astronomical Clock
3) Jewish Town, Old and New Synagogue
4) Charles Bridge
5) Wenceslas Square - Um..every other day.
6) John Lennon Wall and the cool marriage locks right next to it on the other side of the river.
7) Seen Tosca by Puccini at Prague State Opera House (GORGEOUS), soon to watch Cinderella (Prokofiev) and The Czar's Last Daughter - Sleeping Beauty (Tchaikovsky) and perhaps another opera.
8) Visited Narodni Divadlo - National Theatre (The People's Theatre)
9)..STILL more to do here (zoo, hiking, tower, Narodni Muzeum, yaddiyadda..)

I've also gone to the following clubs/bars (excl Juve..):

1) Roxy (lol..wtf)
2) Chapeau Rouge
3) Exit Club - near our dorms. Quite decent. The others have been in the city centre.
4) Libimetsi Music Club - Stvanice
5) Ocko Music Club
6) Obcanska Plovarna
7) Dubliner - Irish Bar (where I get my American Football on)
8) Nebe Music Bar - this was a real cool place
9) This other Jazz bar..I need to find the name of it...Ha! http://www.bluessklep.cz/
Been here twice already. Once with a large group, and then again in spontaneity with Daniel and Robert...the classic bromance...and Robert tricked me into drinking. Crazy Brit...

FOOD*FOOD*FOOD*FOOD

I've been trying not to spend too much money...especially on eating. So far I've just been eating groceries, and school canteens/menzas. There's also a butt ton of Chinese (Cinske!) and Italian/Pizza places. There's a large neighborhood of Vietnamese people that I haven't checked out yet. However...I've been to a couple of places worth mentioning:

1) Therapy - classic Czech cuisine that is in the centre but not easily accessible by tourists. It is the number 1 charity restaurant in the city. Some of you will be getting Therapy post cards from your's truly!
2) Cafe Savoy - a delicious patisserie and a family member of the Ambiente Restaurants Group in Prague. I will be ticking off each location off my list while I'm here. Hopefully.
3) Klementinum next to Vltava River and Charles Bridge for Tommy's birthday. It wasn't EXCEPTIONAL..but when I really wanted a pasta, I got a really good one. So it was memorable enough. =)
4) Kobe - yeah I know..it's a sushi place. But it was really good, despite the..minor rip off. Who the fuck charges extra for ANY side white rice?

I am so spoiled by Czech prices for food and living. I'll come across a (full) meal for over 100 kc (...lol about 6 USD) and think, No no! Too expensive! At Cafe Savoy I spent less than 300 Kc for a more than satisfying and delicious breakfast...I felt like I lost a limb but in reality..did I? Probably not. I'm going to starve when I get back to the States. Texas, at that.

I freaking LOVE listing things...Went to Munich...With a few other trips coming up...So more listing later.

I started doing homework today. Began research on two of my seminar papers, hopefully finish them this month (though not due til December)...And my other projects I'll try and finish next month. For studying abroad standards...this is unheard of. But whatever man. Still got the 30 year old in me.

Wait..

Nevermind.

SO apparently I'm not an authentic Asian. I know I'm from Texas but...whatever. Anyway back to work.
