la vie en prague..

I spent my second weekend in Europe going to Oktoberfest in Munich. Which was...actually a lot of fun. I probably wouldn't go again - but it's more of a family event and carnival than a bunch of drunk dudes. I mean, there were drunk dudes. I guess if anything, just multiply the Texas Renaissance Festival by about 10 and you get Oktoberfest. Pictures are on FB.

It is still so warm here in Prague!

Crackin' down though. I got all my classes figured out with Wednesdays and Fridays free (3 Monday, 1 on Tuesday and Thursday!) so I have lots of time. I haven't found a place to dance yet - but hopefully tonight will be promising.

I'm so absolutely in love with being here. Ilona and I wandered around yesterday and grocery shopped at the small 'potraviny' across the street, and one down the road - great produce. I mean, I remember getting on that plane so...nervous and anxious and hesitant. I had no idea how I was going to get by missing my boyfriend, my family, and my friends..how was I going to take care of myself and not get kidnapped or mugged or shot. But those worries just fell down the drain after my second afternoon going to the castle, and coming back on my own without any scrapes. Granted, I definitely miss everyone SO much. I wish they were here with me but...I'm in Europe! I am going to savor every drop of it with every drop of my savings and come home with no regrets - ready to live the rest of my life to the fullest and nurture all that is good in it. A lot of my (college) life was just...having fun but preparing myself for Europe. I KNEW I wanted to do this, and now I am.

The people are great - SO friendly - and everyone speaks English. Which is hilarious because I kind of wanted to practice my Spanish and French, but they want to practice their English! The locals are really great too...most young people speak English and they can help you with simple issues. Of course there are some sleezeballs I've come across but the people are great, so great. Lots of partying! But this is how you meet everyone. I was invited by some Latin Americans to this club in the city centre that is playing Latin dance music (right down my alley) so it will feel SO great to salsa again. Can't wait!
